If you have the chance to visit the western-most part of Europe, do it!!! Portugal is a magnificent place, perfect for a summer vacation and suitable for the Christmas holidays with its mild winter temperatures. But this is not all. Portugal has a lot more to offer.
Portuguese Architecture: of all the things that fascinate me when traveling abroad, architecture is one of the most interesting aspects of exploring a foreign country. The typical old architecture in Portugal is represented by late Gothic 16th century towers, castles and fortresses and Baroque and Renaissance buildings. Cloisters in Manueline style are the most distinguished. You can see such buildings even in Lisbon. Hilton Resort Portugal fully represents this architecture style.
Portugal has a splendid nature and beautiful wide beaches. The country is among the few unpolluted countries in Europe. You can take a boat trip in one of the most picturesque side of Portugal, the valley of the Douro river has a breathtaking landscape.
